Integrative Health Coaching

How it works

Integrative Health Coaching

Rooted in yoga and Ayurveda, grounded in current evidence. Ninety-minute sessions, online, with a protocol built for your body rather than a generic plan.

What coaching is.

Most people arrive already knowing roughly what would help. Sleep earlier. Move more. Eat differently. Slow down. The knowledge isn’t the obstacle—the sequencing and the follow-through are.

Coaching gives you three things you can’t easily give yourself: a constitutional assessment that identifies which practices suit your particular system, an order of operations so you’re not attempting everything at once, and a scheduled point of accountability every two weeks.

The arc of the work.

Before we meet

Assessment

A short intake covering health history, current medications, sleep, stress, digestion, and what you’ve already tried. Ten minutes.

Session one

Mapping

Ninety minutes to find the thread connecting your symptoms, identify your constitutional pattern, and choose the two or three practices to start with.

Weeks 2–8

Adjustment

Twice-monthly sessions. What held, what didn’t, and why. The protocol changes as you do—this is the part that distinguishes coaching from a handout.

Ongoing

Independence

The goal is a practice you keep without me. Many people move to monthly or seasonal check-ins once the rhythm holds on its own.

Scope

What this is, and what it isn’t.

Being clear about the boundary is what makes the work safe, and it’s what allows physicians to refer into it with confidence.

Coaching includes

Education and instruction in breath, movement, meditation, rest, and daily rhythm · Behavior change support · Personalization drawn from Ayurvedic assessment and current evidence · Tracking how you respond over time · Coordination with your existing healthcare team

Coaching does not include

Diagnosis of any condition · Medication changes or prescribing · Psychotherapy or mental health treatment · Physical therapy or manual treatment · Interpretation of lab or imaging results · Emergency or urgent care

Coaching complements medical care. It does not replace it, and I will say so directly whenever something belongs with your physician instead.

Before you book.

Some situations need a physician first

Chest pain, uncontrolled blood pressure, acute injury, pregnancy complications, active eating disorder, recent surgery, or any new and unexplained symptom. Breath and movement practices also need modification for glaucoma, uncontrolled hypertension, seizure disorders, retinal conditions, and later-stage pregnancy. The intake asks about these—answer plainly, and we’ll adapt or refer as needed.

If you are in crisis

Coaching is not crisis support. In an emergency call 911. For mental health crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), available around the clock.

Your information

What you share stays between us. Nothing is sold, shared, or used for advertising. Notes exist only to make the next session useful, and you can ask for them or ask for them deleted at any time. If you’d like me to coordinate with your physician, that happens only with your explicit say-so.

Common questions.

Do I need experience with yoga or meditation?

No. A good portion of the work involves people who have never held a pose. Everything is taught from the beginning and scaled to what your body currently does.

How long before I notice something?

Some practices shift how you feel within a single session—paced breathing is the clearest example. Sleep and energy usually take two to four weeks of consistency. Deeper patterns take longer. Anyone promising a timeline more precise than that is guessing.

Will this interfere with my medication?

Coaching doesn’t alter medication, and I won’t suggest that you change or stop anything your physician has prescribed. Some lifestyle changes do affect how you respond to certain medications over time, which is a conversation to have with the prescriber—I’ll flag it when it seems relevant.

Is it covered by insurance?

No. Health coaching generally isn’t reimbursed. Some HSA and FSA plans allow it—worth checking with your administrator.

Can my doctor refer me?

Yes, and they’re welcome to. There’s a referral pathway for clinicians who want a structured intake and a summary back at the end of the block.

Start with the assessment.

Ten minutes, no commitment. It tells me where you’re starting from and whether coaching is the right fit—if it isn’t, I’ll say so and point you somewhere better.
